LaVaughn is 14 years old and she attends ninth grade. LaVaughn lives a suitable life with
her mother. They live in a poor part of the city; however their life is very adequate.
LaVaughn is a good, serious student. She tries very hard in school because she hopes to
attend college. Unfortunately, LaVaughn meets many problems when she gets her babysitting
job. She is unable to keep up in school and she starts getting low grades. LaVaughn seems
to be a good person to be with. She seems to be nice and she's caring for sure. It really
shows when she gets a job as a babysitter.



LaVaughn hopes to get into college, but because of the financial problems she may have to
face, there is a little chance. To get into college, she needs a job, quickly. LaVaughn
sees an ad for a job and she hopes this is a beginning…





Unluckily LaVaughn's job is not what you'd call a good job, not even a tolerable job for
child especially. The atmosphere is horrible. The house is a mess. It is well described in
