In 1966 he along with his brother, Sohail, Rahman started business by running a jute mill, which was left behind by their father.

The brothers established Bangladesh Export and Import Company (Beximco Group) in 1972.

They started exporting seafood and crushed bones in Belgium, France, Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Success in business is not only a single part of a successful life. Salman F Rahman certainly recognizes this fact. That is why he has shown such enormous generosity in his efforts to fight poverty and to support human rights as well as other worthwhile causes. He changed the whole export-import scenario and made Bangladesh feel proud.
